Site Calibration Measurement Campaign at Pampa Fidelia Wind Project

At Barlovento Applus+, we carried out the Site Calibration (SC) measurement campaign at the Pampa Fidelia wind project in Chile for ENGIE.
Pampa Fidelia is currently one of the few wind farms under construction in Chile and will feature 51 Goldwind GW165-6.0 MW wind turbines, with a total installed capacity of 306 MW.
Site Calibration is a key step prior to Power Curve Verification (PCT), particularly in complex terrain as defined by IEC standards. The SC campaign provided the correction factors required to accurately determine wind speed at the turbine rotor, taking into account terrain characteristics and site-specific meteorological conditions. This process is essential to ensure a reliable and precise verification of wind turbine performance.
The planning and execution of the campaign required close coordination, as Site Calibration activities were carried out in parallel with civil works, including roads and foundations, and needed to be completed before turbine erection. The campaign extended over approximately three months, involving close collaboration between the developer, EPC contractor and independent testing teams.
Our testing laboratory carries out various specialized wind turbine tests, some of which are accredited in accordance with the UNE EN ISO-17025 standard. In addition, our laboratory is a member of IECRE and MEASNET, organizations that establish international standards for the certification and testing of renewable energy equipment, ensuring the quality and reliability of wind turbines.
This project further demonstrates our expertise in wind resource assessment and performance verification, supporting large-scale wind projects under challenging technical and logistical conditions.
